Privacy & Compliance
Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 25, 2025
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes the privacy practices of Hightower Labs and our subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively, "Hightower", "we", "us", or "our"). This policy applies to all websites owned or controlled by Hightower, including hwt.tech and our various project-specific domains (collectively, the "Sites"), as well as the Hightower software, APIs, and connectivity services provided to our users.
2. Personal Information We Collect
We collect information in two distinct ways depending on how you interact with our ecosystem:
A. Information collected via our Sites
- Standard Usage Information: We use third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics) on our Sites to collect standard data about website traffic and user behavior. This includes pages viewed, time spent on pages, and navigation paths. This information is used solely to improve our services and user experience across our projects.
- Technical Logs: To maintain network stability and protect against cyber threats (such as DDoS attacks), our systems automatically log technical data when you visit our Sites, including IP addresses and request methods.
- Contact Information: If you voluntarily contact us for support or feedback through any of our Sites, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message.
B. Blockchain Infrastructure (RPC, API, LCD, and WebSocket)
Our connectivity services are specifically engineered for anonymity. For all traffic passing through our blockchain endpoints:
- Zero-Tracking Policy: We do not log, track, or archive IP addresses for requests made through our RPC, API, LCD, or WebSocket endpoints.
- Identity Protection: We do not track wallet addresses, transaction signatures, or any metadata that could link an on-chain identity to a specific user.
- No Request Monitoring: We do not monitor or record the content of your queries or the specific data you access on the blockchain.
3. Data Privacy & Non-Correlation Mandate
Our infrastructure is built on a privacy-first foundation. We operate under a strict Non-Correlation Mandate:
- Decoupling: Any technical logs generated for the security of our Sites (IP addresses) are strictly isolated and are never correlated with on-chain activity or blockchain endpoint requests.
- Retention: Technical logs for the Sites are stored for a strictly limited window of 7 days to ensure security. Following this period, all such data is permanently purged from our systems.
- Non-Commercial Guarantee: Your activity is never sold, monetized, or shared with third-party entities for advertising or marketing purposes.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve our Sites and our blockchain services.
- Protect our systems from fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activity.
- Respond to your direct requests, questions, and feedback.
- Comply with legal obligations as described below.
5. How We Share Your Personal Information
We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We may employ third-party companies (such as hosting or analytics providers) to support our Sites. These parties are authorized to use your information only as directed by us.
- Professional Advisors: We may disclose information to lawyers, auditors, or insurers when necessary for professional services.
- Compliance with Laws: We may disclose information to government or law enforcement officials if required by law or as we believe necessary to: (a) comply with applicable laws and lawful requests; (b) enforce the terms and conditions that govern our Sites; (c) protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property; (d) protect, investigate, and deter against fraudulent or illegal activity.
6. Your Choices & Security
- Cookies: You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some portions of our Sites may not function properly without them.
- Analytics: You may opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Do Not Track: We currently do not respond to 'Do Not Track' signals from browsers.
- Security: We employ organizational, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data. However, as security risk is inherent in all internet technologies, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of our Sites or services constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
